Data Analyst I

Data Analyst I
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Gathering, researching, interpreting and analyzing Data and Business operations and processes to evaluate data credibility and efficacy in the development of company-wide Data-Management systems.
- Analyzing data requirements.
- Assisting in devising and developing new Logical-Data Models, processes and procedures.
- Data Profiling.
- Documenting metadata requirements.
- Performing data acquisition and access analysis.
- Coordinating new data development.
- Ensuring consistency with existing databases and warehouses.
- Reviewing business requests for data and data usage.
- Researching data sources.
- Defining data-integration requirements.
- Completing projects in accordance with established Data-Content standards.
- Assisting in defining standards and "best practices".
- Participating in and contributing to final decisions that have a direct and moderate to significant impact on departmental, business-unit and/or company-wide Data-Management.
- Providing analysis and recommendations.
- Providing consultation and/or advice.
- Conducting moderately complex Logical-Data Modeling.
- Evaluating business operations and processes to identify data requirements and sources.
- Reviewing and responding to new requests for data.
- Documenting and maintaining metadata.
- Data Profiling.
- Applying established standards and policies.
A Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelor's (or equivalent) degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (and/or equivalent experience).
- 1+ year(s) of Data-Management and/or relevant Technical experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Data-Management concepts, practices and procedures.
- Experience and proficiency with Data Design and Architecture.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Logical and Physical Modeling and Development techniques using CASE tools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of DBMS in multi-tiered, Client/Server environments.
- Strong knowledge of data integration, data quality, multi-dimensional design and ETL tools, processes and methodology.
- Strong knowledge of Project-Management and SDLC processes and methodology.
- Strong analytical and verbal/written communication skills.
