The Senior Database Administrator/Architect is responsible for defining all aspects of the storage layer and how it is accessed by the system. They will define the database-specific constructs such as tables, indexes, views, constraints, triggers, stored procedures, tablespaces or storage parameters, and others that are needed to store, retrieve, and delete persistent objects.


Requirements: Ability to troubleshoot database problems encountered in normal day-to-day running of a production database. Responsible for design, maintenance and to ensure high availability of a 24 x 7 Production database(s). Solid understanding of multi-tier, network, and firewall architecture System Architecture, including Database and System performance tuning, as well as hardware and network workload balancing Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of business intelligence offerings including Analysis Services (OLAP), Reporting Services, Data Transformation Services (DTS)

Database Tuning, including:
Designing strategies, per application, for IO optimization Index design Query plan analysis and optimization Lock management Data integrity

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or similar formal education Solid (5+ years) DBA experience with MS SQL Server. Must posses or attain and maintain professional Microsoft certification
