Our client has engaged Sysgenix Resources to locate an experienced Manager for Data Center Operations for an immediate direct hire position.  This role manages the overall Data Center operations of the corporate and remote sites of corporate headquarters ensuring adherence to standards, timely processing of Change Management requests, and contracts and services related to environmental support.

 

Requirements:5-7 years experience in the data center environment.  Must have working knowledge of managing a multi-system operations environment.  Knowledge of network server gear, Storage Area Networks, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, generators, air handlers, and environmental management is a must.  Experience with HP systems is a plus.  Must have excellent documentation skills and be proficient in the use of either Visio or Autocad lt. Must be proficient with the use of the MS Office suite, and be well versed in the usage of MS Excel Must be able to communicate effectively both in written form and orally B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline

 

Job Responsibilities:Interfaces with Service Desk processes, responds to Service Desk change order request, requests new support categories as appropriate for vendor notificationsProvides secure operating environment.Protects company physical and data assets.Responsible to keep the access list currentEnsures immediate lockdown of access in the event of employee departureWorks with Corporate Security  and direct leadership to report any violationsMaintains adequate records regarding center?s operation.Devises new techniques to improve operating environment.Enforces established standards and recommend changes as required.Establishes and maintains a full set of process documentation including expectations for delivery of serviceProvides input to Corporate I/T strategy and capacity planningSchedules and oversees datacenter Change ManagementProvides fast and effective response to MAC requestsWorks directly with the Change Management group to ensure proper notificationInterfaces with procurement to be abreast of equipment ordersEnsures cables of all kinds are neat and orderlyManages power allocation inside cabinets and on the UPS as a wholeKeeps current diagrams, inventory, and support documentation Schedules maintenanceContract managementContinuously works to consolidate multi-site contracts where appropriate Ensures support agreements are in place for all UPS, Air handling, and data processing equipment, Maintains good working relationships with vendorsKeeps contact lists for primary and alternate support resources (internal and external)Ensures consistent renewal of annual contracts and seeks best pricing
