Data Center Migration Specialist

Key Role: Provide data center operations and planning support and expertise centered around data center consolidation, system and solution transitions migration, the ITIL framework for IT service and solution delivery, and infrastructure transformation. Apply prior experience with developing system migration and testing strategies and configuration and change management plans. Support the development of data center operations service to support the delivery processes, including asset and inventory management, problem and incident management, and availability and capacity management supporting consolidation and transition activities. Conduct research to support technology refreshment. Establish and enhance a common operating environment, ensure continuity of operations, and identify metrics for establishing service-level management, performance management, and shared cost allocation methodologies and strategies. Plan and prepare the technical data for projects. Analyze requirements, develop source material, consult engineering and technical staff, and work with editors and illustrators in preparing a draft. Obtain and interpret necessary data, drawings, and specifications through research and liaise with technical staff.



Functional/Industry Knowledge:

-3-7 years of experience with writing proposals and editing documents

-3-5 years of experience with supporting data center operations, system consolidation, and migration planning

-3-5 years of experience with networks, systems engineering, and design and data implementation

-3-5 years of experience with the ITIL framework

-3-5 years of experience with government consulting

-Experience with developing system transition and migration, configuration and change management, continuity of operations, asset or inventory management, service-level management, and other data center IT service and support delivery documentation 

-Experience with developing and delivering client presentations

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Education/Certifications or equivalent required:

BA or BS degree in CS or a related field required

 

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.
