Data Management Decision Support Specialist

EMC Mortgage, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bear Stearns, has an immediate opening in our Business Information dpeartment for a Data Management Decision Support Specialist.

 

Position Summary
Candidate will work with end users and business analysts to ensure tight fit between BI environment and business requirements. Additionally, they will be designing and developing the BI front-end tools and application environment including the OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) environment, configuring BI tools, developing the semantic layer and metadata, and creating reports and report definitions. Finally, Decision Support Specialist will create and deliver end-user training and documentation that provides second-line support to power users who develop reports on behalf of their departmental colleagues.

Essential Job Functions
? Installs, configures, deploys, and tunes BI tools and analytic servers
? Troubleshoots BI tool problems and tunes for performance
? Develops multidimensional semantic layer and BI query objects for end users
? Creates reports and report templates
? Helps business users select the appropriate or optimal BI solutions
? Develops OLAP/cubes for functional analysis and advanced slicing capabilities
? Accepts other duties as assigned.


Requirement EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
? College degree preferred.
? Minimum 5+ years of Business Intelligence and Data warehousing experience, namely in the residential mortgage industry. Moderate to strong experience of leading data warehouses with the following solutions or tools: Oracle 10g (DBMS), Ascential (ETL), Oracle OLAP, Cognos, Business Objects, Microsoft SQL Server and Analytic Services, and associated data cleansing and modeling software solutions.
? Translates business questions and requirements into reports, views, and BI query objects
? Knowledge of BI tool architectures, functions, and features
? Understands SQL and relational and multidimensional designs
? Strong problem-solving and metadata skills
? Understands BI tool architecture, functions, features
? Customizes BI tool to meet user needs
