Data Modeler/Data Architect

I. Job Responsibilities:

????????? Bring current data model up to date

o??????? analyze current design, future product architecture and known product and architectural requirements

o??????? make improvement suggestions for future releases

o??????? assess impact of suggested changes

o??????? implement approved changes

????????? Attend design meetings and understand requirements for new product/features; model data to support requirements; perform data analysis to validate understanding of data and validity of model

????????? Design and make performance optimizations to the code base

????????? Maintain and improve current process for scripting upgrades to customer databases

????????? Support and maintenance of existing code base.

????????? Development of new product features

?

II. Experience / Qualifications:

????????? Data modeling experience (5 to 8+ years) with solid understanding of modeling concepts and techniques

????????? Must have excellent data analysis skills

????????? Experience with leading modeling tools ? preferably Embarcadero ER Studio

????????? 5+ years of experience with MS SQL Server

????????? Solid database development experience using Transact SQL

????????? Experience with issues and techniques associated with scripting objects and data for the purpose upgrading databases in place

????????? Experience with meta-data driven applications and associated issues

????????? Must have experience with very large databases and associated performance issues; especially as they relate to modeling techniques and overall database architecture

????????? Must have excellent testing skills; past experience working closely with QAT a plus

????????? Must have worked through entire software development lifecycle; past experience with process development a plus

????????? Not required but valuable - Experience with System Administration, Active Directory and/or UNIX.

????????? Must be highly motivated with excellent problem solving skills and the ability to get up to speed quickly

III. Education:

BS in a related discipline. 5-8+ years of experience in large scale software development and architecture.
