Data Security Analyst II

Job Description: GENERAL FUNCTION:  Supports the implementation and administration of information security policies, practices and procedures to ensure the protection of information processed, stored or transmitted.  Assists in the integration of information security systems to ensure the enforcement of security policies and standards.  Responsible for basic Unix access administration.


The position is on the Technical/Professional ladder at level 2 in the Information Security discipline.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Resolves moderately complex issues regarding information systems security.
* Collects and compiles historical data on system access and generates reports and analyses.
* Assists in obtaining and formatting information for audit requests.
* Proactively identifies and responds to intrusions or breaches in accordance with set policies and practices.
* Develops security administration documentation and processes security requests (Level II).
* Performs audit reviews of security logs and user permissions through system generated and manual reports.
* Performs security testing related to the traffic of firewalls (e.g., routers, protocols - BGP, OSPF, RIP).
* May train lower level Information Security Administrators.
* Recommends cost saving and time saving initiatives for security automation.
* Other duties as required.
