JOB DESCRIPTION


Position: Data Systems Analyst

Reports to: Manager Data Architecture

Location: Lake Forest, Illinois

Overview:

The primary goals of this position are to coordinate the implementation of new systems initiatives, acquisitions, and upgrades, and to facilitate mass system data changes.

This position will also be heavily involved in developing and maintaining Data Management policy and procedure along with Database Schema documentation.

This position will be based at the corporate headquarters in Lake Forest, Illinois, and may require occasional, short-term travel to other Stericycle locations or to vendor sites for training and conferences.


POSITION SUMMARY
This Data Systems Analyst will coordinate the details of implementing the following systems initiatives, including, but not limited to:
? New systems to support emerging business requirements, including sales force automation, product order entry and fulfillment, inventory management, purchasing, and other functions
? Acquisitions
? Mass data changes due to redistricting, reroutes, price increases, etc.
? Upgrades of existing systems
? Ad hoc queries and analyses of operational data
In addition, s/he will facilitate user acceptance testing of new systems and program changes, ensuring Stericycle follows documented Production Control procedures. S/he will also coordinate the transition of support of all new systems to the appropriate user and IS team resources at the end of each project?s initial implementation.

The preferred candidate will have at least 4-6 years of recent experience with database analysis, system conversions, and/or project coordination. S/he should be a versatile, team player who can successfully address several independent tasks at once. S/he should possess a good balance of strong technical and business skills.


REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
? Programming with T-SQL and ODBC
? Microsoft SQL Server 2000
? Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel (Office 2000 or higher)

KEY CONTACTS
The Data Systems Analyst will work closely with the entire IS Department, as well as with the various user groups and management that initiated the new systems projects. To resolve application-specific questions, s/he will also interface with key systems vendors that support various software packages deployed at Stericycle.

? Ability to travel approximately 20% annually
