The Data Warehouse Analyst will implement a global BW instance for Levi Strauss, Inc. Responsibilities include: define reports, gather requirements, create SAP tables, code cubes, set up BW Explorer, and perform a variety of functions in this small team. The primary responsibilities will be to lead analysis, design construction and implementation of BW cubes. You will design specifications for data conversion and data transfers, create or modify data models and star schema diagrams, and assist with creation of end user documentation and training. You will also interface with Basis and ABAP professionals. Some initial travel will be required to gather key user requirements. You will need to interface effectively with many types of professionals in a global setting.


 


Additional responsibilities include:


Partner with both end-users and SAP -Basis resources to ensure proper creation and maintenance of BW metrics reports and distribution.

Manage the design of all custom conversion/transformation and interface software components, including modules, job streams and programs to extract, cleanse and transform the source data into load files that are used to load the physical databases; will provide alternative BW business solutions around applications.

Provide technical knowledge to create Master Data with hierarchies, navigation and time-dependent attributes, InfoObjects, InfoSources, InfoCubes, ODS objects, transfer rules, update rules, process chain, and schedule load.

Identify and activate SAP BW Business Content - specifically financial.

Load data into target (Master table, ODS, Infocube) with data from different source systems (SAP R/3, flat files).

Knowledge of SAP BW Business Explorer BEX Analyzer including star schema fact and dimensions and familiarity with slow changing dimensions.

Analyze functional requirements and assist in the development of detailed BW data mapping documentation.



To qualify, you'll need a Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent work experience coupled with at least 5 years professional Information Technology experience. 3+ years experience with SAP-BW experience, specifically with hands-on experience working with Info-objects and Info-sources is also required.  The right candidate will have proven experience with the ability to deal with ambiguity and openness to influence. We seek a self-starter who has a clear understanding of customer needs and has strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.  Up to 50% international travel will be required during first few months of project implementation.


 


This position also requires:


Strong skills in data modeling, custom extractors and ODS's

Strong overall balanced BW skills. Experience with sending/receiving data from non-R/3 applications

Experience working with BW 3.0B, with 3.3 content or above


Experience working with BEX, BW web reporting and other third party tools for reporting is preferred.  Knowledge of BW performance tuning is an also an asset.
