Data Warehouse Developer I

Description   The role of the Data Warehouse Developer is to design, develop, and implement business driven information system solutions, on time and within budget. 

 

Qualifications:  

?Bachelor?s degree in Information Systems or related field;

?5+ years of direct work experience as an application developer;

? 2+ years experience designing and developing data analysis/reporting solutions using the Cognos suite of tools (Transformer, Powerplay, ReportNet Report Studio, ReportNet Framework Manager, etc.);

? Experience with multidimensional modeling and development;

? Experience with SQL and stored procedures;

? Experience with Microsoft Data Transformation Services (DTS);

? XML skills a plus;

? Experience using a System Development Life Cycle;

? Experience in the design of relational database structures;

? Working knowledge of Windows 2000 and XP desktops environments;

?Experience with Project Management Techniques;

?At least one year of HMO experience required;

? Strong systems analysis, problem solving, and design skills;

? Strong verbal and written communications skills;

? Excellent Customer service skills;

? Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial;

?Team Player.

 

JOB DUTIES

 
Design and develop new functionality for existing and new applications to support
 data warehouse strategy using Cognos suite of tools.

? Troubleshoot and correct issues with existing applications in the data

? warehouse environment.
Identify new technologies or technological improvements to include in the
application to improve usability, stability and maintainability.
Be one of the subject matter Cognos experts on the team.
Provide technical consultation to the business community.
Identify opportunities for improvement within the Application Development Team (i.e., improving documentation, software quality improvement, etc.) and outline and implement solutions.
Other related duties as required.
