Data Warehouse Technical Specialist

publicly owned creator, manufacturer and distributor of social
expression products. In the United States, our greetings cards
are marketed under the names American Greetings, Carlton Cards and
Gibson. Other domestic products include DesignWare party goods,
GuildHouse candles, and Learning Horizons educational products.

This position is responsible for regularly assessing the overall performance of the Data Warehouse and continually looking for opportunities to improve both batch and end user query performance. This position is highly visible within the IT organization, with opportunities for growth and advancement to multiple areas of the division.

Key Responsibilities
'Establishes and communicates performance scorecard
'Serves as liaison between technical infrastructure team and data warehouse support team
'Optimization of data and end user queries
'Establishes new service level agreements and monitors adherence to existing SLAs
'Identification and development of performance monitoring tools and processes
'Researches and recommends tools and methods to measure query performance and license usage
'Administers monitoring software ' sets parameters, assists with interpretation of results
'Monitors usage of standard reports and licenses and recommends changes and purchases of license mix based upon usage.


Support Responsibilities
'Assists Subject Area Expert with recommending improvements based on usage trends
'Supports DBA in performance improvement testing, and measurement

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
