We seek a Database Adminstator to perform operational database setup and administration in a large database environment to assure operational excellence. You willperform ongoing database administration, maintenance, performance tuning, installation and backup/recovery of Oracle databases running on Unix and Windows environments. define and implement monitoring systems, respond to alerts, troubleshoot as necessary. provide 24x7 on-call supports as part of a rotational schedule. ensure continued high customer satisfaction through ongoing account management. work with customers to measure and manage service levels. oversee the completion of projects including planning; assigning, monitoring, reviewing progress, and evaluating results. ensure effective flow of communication between the database team, customers, and management.

To qualify for this position you must have

BS in Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. OCP or OCA Certification a plus. At least 3 years experience with database administration. At least 2 years experience working with Oracle databases. Secondary knowledge of DB2 a plus. Experience working in a 7x24 environment. Working knowledge of Operating Systems (Unix, Windows), including Unix shell scripting skills, and Perl. Two to four years of data processing experience in the financial industry. Experience with 9i or 10G RAC implementations a plus.
