Database Administrator - FT - (JG10528)

Reports to the Manager of Information Systems

Responsible for the planning, maintenance and development of multiple user oriented databases with a focus on DB2 and SQL. Charged with insuring data is clearly defined and consistent across all database fields; that data security is defined and maintained and all data is stored in a manner which allows for easy recovery in the event of an emergency, the candidate will also play a key role in Disaster Recovery procedures.

The candidate will understand conceptual design / logical design and physical design of these financial oriented databases. Will enforce data standards and be able to document procedures and field definitions in the new environment. Position will also maintain access privileges and our full data dictionary. In addition, strong communication skills will be required for meeting with and serving the needs of a growing user community.

Requirements:
*Familiarity with Financial Systems processing is strongly preferred as well as a background in Database administration and programming within multiple database environments.
*Prior experience with DB2 is a real plus but experience with varied databases is expected. Experience with data replication is highly desirable.
