Database Administrator - Investments Department

Description: Assists in the maintenance, and control of enterprise databases; monitors databases; maintains database backup and recovery system; controls user access to databases. Works to facilitate the successful movement and representation of data around enterprise databases. Works to resolve questions related to all areas of Data Administration on all production platforms supported by the enterprise. Works within a closely-related family of RDBMS products. Ability to code, test, and execute DDL to create and modify physical database definitions; Ability to apply appropriate database tuning techniques and tools; Ability to work with application developers to ensure appropriate usage of SQL DML statements; Ability to monitor and report on database performance and resource usage; Ability to implement, test, and maintain effective database backup and recovery procedures, as well as replication; Ability to administer DBMS security in accordance with established security policies;
Ability to implement and monitor change control regimen for the entire DB environment; Ability to assist application developers and database end-users in resolving problems.
Only candidates with current working experience with MS SQL Server (a conversion from 2000 to 2005 would be ideal) will be considered. **SQL 2005 experience highly desirable **

Qualifications:
BS/BA in computer science or other technical discipline. 5+ years DB experience. Strong experience in a Microsoft environment - Scripting; SQL query skills ; experience implementing and using ancillary SQL Server services such as replication; notification services; reporting services; OLAP services
Skills Requirements:
MS SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2000, DBA
Pluses: Experience in dealing with IT auditors on Security and SOX issues; knowledge of financial services industry and securities business in general.
