Database Administrator [P30034]

Database Administrator needed in our IT center in North Scottsdale.

This position has the responsibility of day-to-day administration and support of multiple SQL server databases. Work with senior-level DBA's to enhance the existing systems and assist with capacity planning, database creation, user administration, performance tuning and on-call rotation. Design, construct and maintain databases to ensure integrity, performance, accessibility and recoverability of data. Establish database definitions, tables, designs, codes, t4ests, implementation of custom database scripts and formal procedures. Develop long-term strategy for historical data retention and archival plan for storage needs. SQL clusters and Veritas cluster forums needed to administer and trouble shoot and performance tuning. Testing and implementation of cutting edge SQL server technologies. May provide functional guidance, advise to others on the team.

Basic requirements:
BS/BA and 5-8 years related experience and/or equivalent.
1. Experience designing and implementing VLDB (very large databases) with a size greater than a terabyte.
2. Experience implementing File Group and other backup processes.
3. Excellent understanding of implementing cluster and non-clustered indexes.
4. Experience developing, using and administering production relational databases.
5. Experience working with SQL Server Profiler and SDLC (software development life cycle).
6. Technical documentation skills.
7. Effective technical and non-technical verbal and written communication skills.
8. Project Mgmt experience, a plus.
