Database Analyst (0142)

Job Description: Basic Function: The Global Application Services Department of Central Technology is looking to fill an Analyst role within the Imagining and Application Platform Group.  In this position, the incumbent is responsible for all activities related to the administration of a computerized database management system, including day-to-day operational processes and procedures. 
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for installing database software in a distributed server environment.
- Uses database utilities, monitoring and tuning in the day-to-day management of imagining applications that host corporate databases.
- Creates new databases and performs upgrades for new or changed database applications.
-  Ensures that database administration standards and procedures are followed for database design, security, backup and recovery.
-  Indentifies and provides resolutions for bassic to complex service-related problems and accurately documents outages, anomalies and fixes.
- Works with Infrastructure personnel to install and test new versions of or patches to the Database Management System.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or higher in Computer Science, or related discipline, with a minimum of 4 years experience in systems analysis and web application development; or, a minimum of seven years experience in systems analysis and application development.
- Web application server experience; in a J2EE environment is preferred
- J2EE
- AIX/UNIX or IBM Z/OS or Windows Server
