Database Analyst Senior - Capacity Planning

The Senior Database Modeling and Capacity Planning Specialist will be responsible for the following functions: 



Review Physical Designs and work with the DBAs and Solution Architects to develop capacity planning models for future releases using modeling tools and techniques to identify end state of 2007 for


CPU


Disk Utilization


Peak Period Analysis and Batch window throughput


Calibrate actual performance to models


Evaluate Impact of New Technologies


Perform regression analysis of new releases. 


Participate in Performance Testing and calibrate models


Evaluate modeling tools


Work with BAI to evaluate new technologies and impact


The Financial Data Warehouse environment will be growing with each quarterly release through 2008. It is imperative we be able to estimate processing and load times of interfaces as they are planned to come into the FDW to ensure SLA's (processing windows) are maintained and that system performance is acceptable. This resource will focus on predictive analysis leading to environment certification.


A Bachelors degree with a 7+ years of relevant work experience, preferably as both a DBA or as  a Performance Analyst
Experience in a large data warehousing environment with multiple concurrent programs or workstreams
Oracle 9i and 10g experience. 
5 years of overall Oracle Experience
BMC / BEZ+  and Oracle Enterprise Manager Experience
Experience/understanding of Finance processes such as GL and MIS reporting
Project Management Skills

Excellent Communication Skills
Ability to identify and resolve issues and escalate appropriately
