Database Developer

General Summary: Individual will focus on working with system developers as well as other database developers to implement high quality projects in a fast paced, team oriented environment. The individual will be responsible for transactional database design as well as writing, reviewing, and troubleshooting any code that interacts with the database as well as developing code.

 

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

This individual's primary responsibility will be to collaborate with system developers and other data team members to implement project initiatives.  Tasks defined as:

- TSQL development including: Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions, Views, etc.

- Transactional DB Modeling

- DTS Programming

- Query Performance Tuning

- DB Requirements Gathering

- DB Technical Design

- DB Project Unit Testing

- SQL Server Replication

 

This individual may be assigned any DBA function including, but not limited to: 

- OLAP

- Archiving

- DB Security

- Researching Performance Issues

- Upgrading DB Servers and associated code

 

Skills / Knowledge Requirements:

- Level of knowledge equivalent to a MCDBA

- Strong understanding of DB Connection methodologies

- Strong communication skills

- Motivated with a Positive Attitude

- .Net Experience a plus

- SQL 2005 Exposure a Plus

 

Education / Experience Requirements: 

- Bachelors degree in Computer Programming, MIS, or related field.

- 5 - 7 years working with Microsoft SQL Server database development tasks and/or database administration tasks.
