Database Management

Spherion is seeking for a ?Database Management position in the Northern Virginia.? The ideal candidate will enjoy a fast-paced culture that promotes the development of new ideas in an innovative environment.?

Develops and maintains operational databases.? Supports the development of database projects to include needed resources.? Develops database backup and recovery processes and hardware.? Prepares and delivers presentations on database management systems (DBMS) concepts.? Senior levels may be supervisors.

Must Have:
Minimum 5+ years Oracle DBA experience in a Unix environment supporting Production applications.
Minimum 5+ years Architectural/maintenance/tuning experience with large Oracle Databases ? Over 1 Terabyte in size supporting hundreds of users in 24x7 configuration
Minimum 5+ years Experience maintaining large database objects
Minimum 5+ years Experience with Disk layout and Physical tuning of large Databases (Terabyte+ )
Minimum 5+ years Experience tuning large complex SQL queries using techniques OTHER THAN optimizer hints and query rewrites.
Proven leader that has a strong character able to take charge and make decisions when working with developers and System administrators.
Minimum 5+ years Experience recovering large production databases (Terabyte+)
Minimum 5+ years Experience writing complex SQLPLUS and UNIX shell scripts
Minimum 5+ years Experience with Parallel DML/DDL
Minimum 5+ years Experience installing/upgrading/maintaining Oracle software - Oracle 8i/9i
Minimum 5+ years Experience implementing Oracle 8i/9i new features
Minimum 2+ years Hands on experience with Oracle RMAN


Should Have:
Minimum 2+ years Experience with Oracle Web Application Server
Minimum 1+ years Experience implementing and maintaining Standby Databases
Minimum 2+ years Experience Implementing and maintaining Replicated environments
Minimum 2+ years Oracle NT DBA experience
Experience With Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters)
Experience with Replication strategies for Disaster Recovery and/or Continuous Operations
Experience with IBM UDB database Administration
Application Programming background
Oracle Developer/Designer background
Experience with JAVA - Programming or implementation within the database
SAP DBA experience
Unix Administration background
