Desk Side Support Analyst (4611)

Job Description: Perot Systems Corporation , a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients, is currently looking for a Desk Side Support Specialist to join our team in Washington, DC.

Job Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be a member of an Integrated Site Support team based in a client's corporate headquarters, providing hands on support of various hardware and software including Windows 2000/XP and Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities include providing technical guidance in activities associated with the identification, prioritization, and resolution of reported problems either by telephone or on site. Activities include recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps. Daily responsibilities will consist of hardware/software support, including delivery and setup of various hardware components.

Other duties will include support for any ad hoc request that pertains to the support of a user, the machine, or the network on which the machine resides. Performs general maintenance tasks, troubleshoots and repair computer systems and peripheral equipment located throughout the organization. Strong interpersonal skills required translating technical issues in non-technical terms. Will be asked to coordinate and lead training sessions for end users on a rotational basis.

Required Skills:

4+ years prior Technical Support Experience in a Windows XP/2000 environment.

Working knowledge of technical hardware and software.

Experience supporting Windows networks.

Professionally refined customer interaction skills>

Ability to work autonomously on various problems combined with the discernment to know when to approach issues from a team and customer perspective.

Ability to quickly develop an understanding of internal and external commercial work processes.

Ability to support and configure Windows 2000/XP, MS Outlook, MSOffice

Desired Skills:

Knowledge of MS Project, CAD, Wireless Device Support.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's in Computer Science or other IS/Customer Service related degree or equivalent work experience.

Minimum Certifications or Other Professional Credentials:

MCSE preferred

* Limited amount of overnight travel. May be asked to support other locations in the Metro Washington / Baltimore / Virginia area *
