POSITION PURPOSE:  To provide desktop support services to corporate end users.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Act as a resource for computer users to help them solve computer-related problems and expand their knowledge of effective computer skills.Ensure proper operation of all company personal computers, printers, and other computer hardware and peripherals. Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware problems and be able to manage corrective actions.Install and maintain software packages. Ensure correct network implementation of all company-provided software. Support Microsoft back-end network services including, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS services, Exchange server, SQL services, backup services, and anti-virus software.Research and recommend software and hardware products to IT Manager Provide IT Manager with quotes for any hardware or software requests. Receive, unpack, inspect, distribute new equipment and record documentation in IT asset database (serial no. model info, etc.). Move any computer equipment between departments or to new offices. Configure new employees for access to network services including Email, Home Directory, print capabilities, and Data Locations. Remove network access for terminated employees. Research and troubleshoot workstation conflicts with hardware & software. Install and configure workstation software updates, as well as operating system security updates, patches, and upgrades.Assist Telecom Engineer with basic programming of new phones (moves, adds, changes).
 

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

? High School diploma

? Minimum of 3 years in a Microsoft network environment (Windows 2000 server and Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP)

? Electronic mail services under Windows (Exchange, SMTP, Pop3)

? Basic understanding of Windows-based system administration is required.

? Must have experience with file, print, web (http, https, IIS) and directory services under Windows.

? Strong written, verbal communications and customer service skills a must.

? Ability to perform periodic software and hardware system updates, upgrades, backup and security patches.

? Desktop support in a helpdesk environment helpful.

? Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills required.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

? Ability to lift up to 75lbs.

? On call duties

? Possible weekend and night shifts
