Desktop Technician II

The Kemtah Group, Inc. is a National Information Technology Firm that specializes in IT Infrastructure Support. We are seeking a Desktop Technician Level II for the Sandston, VA area, starting as soon as possible. This position requires independent interaction with the client, so representatives must be professional and customer-service oriented. The pay rate for this opportunity is $14.00 an hour

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

The primary responsibility of the Desktop Technician ? Level II, is to provide desk side end-user support and service request support.  Support will require in-depth knowledge of PC Hardware, desktop Operating Systems options and settings, and network functionality.  In addition, intermediate knowledge of end-user applications is also required. The desktop technician is the principal owner of the service request as well as the customer?s overall satisfaction.  In instances where a call cannot be resolved, appropriate escalation processes must be followed.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
 

-Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating systems and standard applications presently used by HP if primarily providing Software Support.

 

-General knowledge of non-standard but commonly used products.

 

-PC Hardware and HP Printer Support Experience

 

-Advanced troubleshooting skills! Basic hardware troubleshooting skills ? ability to replace end-users serviceable components.

 

-Provide installation, diagnosis, and repair of standard equipment as required to restore system functionality according to the product?s service manual if primarily providing Hardware Support.

 

-General ability to determine whether an Incident?s root cause is the result of hardware or software failure.

 

-Familiarity with site LAN protocol(s) currently in use.

 

-Ability to deliver technical training to other technicians.

 

-Ability to listen and interface with both technical and non-technical personnel.

 

-Able to work independently in a business environment and proactive work style.

 

-Customer Service background; professional demeanor and dress

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

Individuals must have at least two (2) years of PC support, diagnostic/troubleshooting, and repair experience.  Individuals should have a solid working knowledge of PC operations including hardware, operating system, and network settings. 

 

Individual should possess a High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Appropriate experience may be substituted for formal education.
