Developer II -(Oracle Reports)

 

Responsibilities: 

 Analyzes, designs, codes, tests, debugs, and implements new and enhancement projects for multiple application areas. Develops and maintains source code.  Maintains project schedules.  Communicates status updates.  Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of five years systems development experience.
Fundamental knowledge of programming languages.
Experience in a complex, large company environment.
Strong verbal and written skills.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Job Description:
Candidate should have several years of experience with Oracle Applications and Oracle Reports and Oracle Discoverer . Desired Oracle modules include Order Management, Inventory, Shipping, Accounts Payable, & Accounts Receivables. Also desirable is experience with custom applications running on Oracle . Experience should be primarily technical, but functional knowledge will also be helpful, especially regarding security.

Candidate must be an Oracle Reports and Discoverer guru with extensive experience designing and implementing Reports/Discoverer solutions in a variety of environments. Additionally, any experience with Oracle Portal would be desired: Single sign on, portlet provider registration, and other security setups.

Candidate must be comfortable working with business decision makers and end users in LEADING enterprise global reporting efforts. This person must engage people and ask the insightful questions to generate answers that drive the project forward. Candidate must also be comfortable providing guidance and support to other technical developers.

SQL Coding:
? Strong PL/SQL: Create complex packages, procedures, and functions
? Performance tuning of code
? Materialized views, custom tables, and indexes

Discoverer :
? Experience with Discoverer Administrator, Discoverer Plus & Discoverer Desktop 9i & 10G
? Worked with both Oracle Applications and non Applications EUL*s
? Designed & created business areas to meet business requirements.
? Work with end users to identify most appropriate data and labels
? Design materialized views & tables for use in Discoverer
? Use PL/SQL to integrate data sets, perform various calculations and summaries for use by workbooks
? Maintain joins, hierarchies, item classes
? Create custom folders & summary folders
? Create and register custom PL/SQL functions in Discoverer
? Sharing & scheduling workbooks
? Know the appropriate usage of Discoverer and its limitations


Security: Very Important
? Setup Oracle Applications security within Discoverer
? Create & maintain Oracle Applications users
? Setup database security within Discoverer
? Integrate Discoverer with single sign on
? Administer public and private connections
? Register Discoverer workbooks within Oracle Portal
? Administration of Discoverer user privileges

Oracle Reports:
? Develop complex Oracle reports that utilize the following
? Multiple queries
? Multiple groups & levels of repeating frames
? Calls to PL/SQL packages, procedures and functions
? Formula and summary columns
? Materialized views
? Format triggers & layout customization
? Lexical parameters
? Export to Excel
? Report registration in Oracle Applications
? Register Oracle Reports in Oracle Portal
? Know the appropriate usage of Oracle Reports and when it is better to use Discoverer
