Developer/Software Engineer Level 2/3

We are looking for talented, energetic and enthusiastic individuals who can utilize their knowledge and experience to help us develop software solutions that will maintain, enhance and monitor the Vonage production network.
The Operations Support Systems group develops customized tools to support the Network Operations Center, Customer Care Center and other engineering and operations groups. The development environment includes object oriented development in Perl and Java, web based front-ends (HTML templates, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end relational databases.
The ideal candidates will be capable of understanding both formal and informal requirements received from other internal organizations and be responsible for the design, development and testing of software solutions that solve the business problems identified.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Willing to mentor other less experienced team members
Excellent analytical and communication skills







3-5 years experience with at least 3 of the following items:
Database design and SQL programming experience with either Oracle, PostgreSQL or mySQL
Programming languages: Primarily Perl with some experience in Java - or experienced in C programming and willing to learn Perl.
Object Oriented design and development
Working experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems
Web application development experience
GUI design using HTML templates, CSS, JavaScript
Experience with configuring and using OpenSource software (e.g. Apache, mod_perl, postgreSQL, RT Trouble Tracking, OpenNMS, CVS)
Automated Testing
