Development Manager

InterCerve, Inc. seeks a Development Manager for their sqlSentry product development team. The responsibilities include oversight of the software development, quality assurance, documentation, and support process as well as business analysis to define and prioritize product features and development strategies.

sqlSentry (www.sqlsentry.net) is the premier scheduling and notification management system for SQL Server. sqlSentry optimizes SQL Server performance through a more refined visual method for scheduling and monitoring the performance impact of jobs as well as events/tasks outside of SQL Server.  The sqlSentry notification system is the most comprehensive and reliable system available today for SQL Server, Windows Task Scheduler, and others.

Required Qualifications

? 5+ years managing software product development teams
? Extensive understanding of product development lifecycles and processes
? Strong customer service skills, high attention to detail, and strong decision-making skills
? Extensive knowledge of C# and the .NET framework, including WinForms and ADO.NET
? Firm understanding of OOP, including interface design, inheritance, and polymorphism
? Experience designing and debugging multi-threaded applications in both Windows Service and WinForms environments
? 5+ years SQL Server experience including database design and optimization techniques

Desired Qualifications

? Experience with structured QA methodologies
? MCSD and/or other Microsoft certifications
? Experience with Oracle, DB2 or other enterprise DBMS platforms
? Understanding of the SQL Server Agent scheduler
? Experience with cross-platform scheduling systems
? Experience designing custom controls using System.Drawing/GDI+

Key Responsibilities

? Development team management, which includes oversight of the software development, quality assurance, documentation, and support processes, with the goal of ensuring development schedules, technical support and quality standards are met.
? Business analysis to define and prioritize product feature requirements, and optimize development strategies.
? Software application development utilizing Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, as well as other Microsoft-oriented platforms, tools and technologies.
? Manage and mentor the development and technical support teams.
