Director 5, Operations Analysis

The University of Florida's Department of Operations Analysis is recruiting for a Director 5. The Director of Operations Analysis is responsible for overseeing a staff of 16 IT professionals providing support services for the following IT activities: network and system administration, security, server administration and maintenance, exchange e-mail and calendaring, blackberry devices, personal computers and peripherals, desktop software, and staff development.

Operations Analysis is a Division of Finance and Administration responsible to the Vice President and Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration and provides IT support services to the Offices of the President, several Vice Presidents and numerous Divisions of Finance and Administration.

The Director will work collaboratively with stakeholders in each unit to develop, plan, configure, implement and manage network and desktop computing resources and continually assess and improve the efficacy and cost effectiveness of IT staff, processes and technologies to support unit goals.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in the following areas:

- Three years of increasingly responsible information technology management experience.

- Knowledge of server and desktop equipment as well as Windows operating systems.

- Knowledge of local-area networks; their design, installation, maintenance and security.

- Experience with Microsoft systems and application software.

- Expertise with desktop application software (e.g. word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation graphics, etc.).

- Ability to review and analyze application software and hardware issues and problems.

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to communicate technological needs to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience. A criminal background check will be conducted. Expected starting salary range is $80,000 to $100,000.00 annually, negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
