Directly responsible for the development and execution of a multi-year strategic plan for our high profile, internal and external customer-facing operations within the Information Technology organization.

Leads strategic planning assignment for specific functional areas across and within departments, working in conjunction with both the IT and business owners/stakeholders

Develops a clear understanding of the impact that the application/technology/etc? has on our customers and applies that context as a guide in driving the strategy for the functional area

Integrates and monitors all initiatives/reliability enhancements impacting the operational area, aids in determining priority, ensures IT and business alignment and overall consistency with the strategic direction

Compiles, prioritizes and champions initiatives for funding that are required to progress the operation strategically, including ownership of the associated business case and financial return on investment analysis

 

The candidate will successfully accomplish these objectives by:

Interfacing with IT Strategic Planning to ensure functional and organizational strategy is consistent

Compiling information and developing work plans with actionable milestones to effectively define, execute and track progress towards a comprehensive and clear strategy

Collaborating proactively with internal partners and stakeholders to integrate the operation?s strategic plan and milestones with those of other dependant functions and IT support areas

Appling a solid IT background in customer contact systems, order processing systems, architecture, and/or reporting/analysis systems to understand, discuss and explain technical terms and industry standards

Utilizing strong presentation development and communication skills to translate the strategic roadmap to appropriate internal and external audiences, including senior management, and for use as a communication vehicle across the organization

 

Qualifications:

5-7 years of business development & strategic planning experience (Technical strategic planning a plus)

Direct experience in working with a large scale IT organization

Proficient in IT terminology and industry standards

Expert level exposure to customer contact systems, order processing systems, architecture and/or reporting systems

Big 5 business consulting experience

Strong analytical & financial analysis and problem solving skills

Able to develop overall ?big picture? strategy and execute on the tactical initiatives and sequencing to progress strategy

Able to work cross-functionally to facilitate collaboration and obtain required information

Skilled in collaborating and distilling information from both technical and non-technical experts

Solid communications skills with demonstrated proficiency in developing presentation materials for Senior Management

Comfort with a work environment where priorities, work focus and direction are constantly changing

Capable of producing high quality, finished product work upon initial submission to management

Able to develop and support creative, unconstrained approaches to developing strategy & associated initiatives

Comfort with working under limited supervision under very tight time constraints

Able to handle multiple work streams with different priorities and deadlines

Must be expert level proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Access

Familiarity with MS Visio and MS Project

 

Education:

Bachelor?s degree in quantitative discipline (eg: Math, Statistics, Engineering, Information Systems)

Masters degree/MBA highly preferred
