Director, Project Management Office (PMO)



The Director of the PMO is responsible for building and managing the methodologies, tools and resources used to successfully manage life cycle implementation (concept through delivery) of IT programs and projects from small and short-term to large, global and complex in nature.  Director is responsible for the development and delivery and governance of project management methodologies and tools, as well as ultimately accountable for the way methodologies and resources are used to deliver quality technology solutions within planned budgets, scopes and schedules.

 

Essential Functions:

 
Define and document the Charter of the PMO.
Develop standards and tools for Program/Project Management disciplines.
Develop supporting Program/Project Management processes for project planning, change and reporting based upon industry best practices.
Develop training/supporting materials and deliver on-board and continuing training for staff and project team members.
Build relationships across business lines to understand relevant KLC Business Plan objectives, strategies and action.
Manage IT Project Portfolio.
Lead and Manage Change.
Establish a repository of lessons learned.
Recruit and establish a cadre of skilled PMO staff.
Travel - up to 50%.

 

Experience and Education:

 
A Bachelor's degree in Business Admin, Computer Science or a related field is required.
PMI PMP or equivalent certification is required.
10 years' professional experience in IT or business.
5+ years' in senior project management capacity.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 
Proven experience in project leadership roles required.
Strong experience in project management methodology and project lifecycle required.
Deep background in people management, resource planning and budget management required.
Strong influencing skills and ability to interact with executive management required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience delivering global IT project preferred.
