Director, Reporting and Data Warehouse

JOB SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for functional management of Lumenos? data warehouse as well as the reporting production unit.  In this capacity, this individual oversees all aspects of the team?s day-to-day operations, working with technical resources to maintain and advance the data infrastructure, and leading production and delivery of standard and ad hoc reporting deliverables.  This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining successful relationships with internal and external customers in support of department objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the reporting production unit, ensure that team provides timely analytical and technical expertise, both verbally and in writing, in response to complex, specialized report requests requiring high-level data analyses and data management.Oversee maintenance and strategic development of Lumenos? data warehouse; work proactively with architecture team and other technical resources to ensure that reporting infrastructure supports organizations? current and future needs.

3.Act as a liaison between the Data Warehouse and Reporting Team and internal customer groups (e.g. client services, customer service, etc.) to proactively meet customer and organizational reporting needs.Manage and lead Reporting Production staff to meet departmental commitments and quality standards.  Hire and train new staff; mentor/develop existing staff.  Write and conduct performance reviews and take disciplinary action when necessary.Manage individual projects in support of Data Warehouse and Reporting Team needs, including  project planning and scheduling, resource planning and management, status reporting, issue and risk management



QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: 

Group health experience and knowledge of consumer-driven health care programs preferred.

BA/BS and 7-9 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience working with health care claims data or related data strongly preferred; prior experience interacting with clients and all levels of management required.



Knowledge:

Demonstrated knowledge of health care industry preferred

Demonstrated knowledge of medical procedure coding (e.g. CPT, ICD-9, NDC codes) preferred

Demonstrated knowledge of database systems and analytical tools

Skills:

Demonstrated excellent data management skills
