Director of Technology

 

Technisource is a national provider of technology services, focused on achieving the unique goals of our clients and consultants. POSITION SUMMARY:

The position is responsible for working in conjunction with the Strategic and Development areas of AW to develop, implement and support next generation Advanced Workflow Solutions.  This role will own all components of the technical strategy and deployment of the solution.

 

A successful candidate will assist in the development and fully comprehend customer needs and product requirements to meet those needs.  The Director of Technology will identify the technology options for a product and gain alignment across the organization on the technical road maps for products.  Once a product goes into development, this individual will see the development through to completion.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:To lead all Technical aspects of the Advanced Workflow Business Unit.  This includes defining the technical road map, leading feasibility efforts, evaluation of internal & external technical capabilities to develop products and oversight of detailed technical requirements documents.Effectively works with all Business Units to ensure alignment of technology choices for legacy systems and future products. Provide oversight for analyzing short and long term technology needs for Advanced Workflow, including, but not limited to: Advanced Slide Identification solutions, Middleware Technology and ImagingStays current and up-to-date with emerging health care technology and competitors? technology solutions and provides the Advanced Workflow Team with this information and intelligence as appropriate. Maintain compliance with technically related components of HIPAA, FDA regulations and reporting requirements and other regulatory agencies as required. Oversee the development of proposals and impact analyses on the acquisition and integration of new products and systems.Lead IP strategy as it relates to Advanced Workflow product solutions.

 May perform other duties as required or assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Formal Training/Education:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Sciences, MIS or a related field required. Masters degree preferred.

 

 

Experience:Minimum of 12 years of diverse IT Technology experience, including 5 years management and leadership experience.  Experience in Healthcare IT, Laboratory Informatics and the diagnostic laboratory are required. Experience designing, implementing, deploying, and supporting diverse technology solutions, embedded systems, web-based solutions, and services based architecture.  Proven track record of delivering solutions on time & under budget using industry standard system development and project management methodologies.  Experience migrating legacy systems to current technology.  Ability to operate at all levels of the solution development effort, from code implementation, to senior management interaction.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to effectively present complex information so that all audience can achieve comprehension is required.Ability to work cross-functionally among various business units and disciplines.Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:

 

The working environment is indoors and is seasonally heated and cooled with minimal noise levels.  The position requires considerable sitting, typing and the ability to move objects of less than 25 pounds.  The position requires the ability to communicate in person, telephonically and via email.
