Documentation Specialist

Summary:

 

The Technical Documentation Specialist plans, directs and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.

Specific Duties:

- Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Schedules due dates for drawings, specifications, software, technical manuals and other documents.
- Monitors status of project to ensure documentation is submitted according to schedule.
- Reviews and verifies documents for completeness, format, and compliance with contract requirements.

 

Requirements:

 

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years experience developing technical documentation required.

Additional Requirements:

- Experience developing on-line help documentation using Robohelp software package.
- Demonstrated experience in developing software users manuals and software/system documentation.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Powerpoint
- Demonstrated document editing experience.
- Demonstrated technical writing experience.
- Position requires the possession of an active TOP SECRET security clearance and the ability to successfully complete a special background investigation.

 

Desired Experience:

 

- Demonstrated experience working with user groups to determine and develop useful training and tutorial documentation.
- Demonstrated experience in developing technical documentation, including network diagrams, floor plans and process documentation.
- Experience with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and RoboHelp Software.
