Downstream Project Manager, AD&P

Shell Oil Products US. is currently seeking a Downstream Project Manager, AD&P for its Houston, Texas location.

Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for managing projects ranging in size ($50K - $3M) and complexity across all stages of the project life-cycle. Using the IT For Shell Stage Gate framework along with Downstream IT standard processes, you will be expected to deliver projects on time, within the approved budget, and within the agreed upon scope.
 
Key Accountabilities Include:
- Ensuring IT For Shell Stage Gate project framework & Downstream IT processes and practices are followed
- Managing project risk in a systematic way
- Managing escalation of issues/road blocks and ensuring resolution
- Establishing project cost budgets and timeline
- Taking responsibility and showing personal accountability for work performed and decisions taken
- Identifying and ensuring that the appropriate resources are acquired for each project
- Providing effective leadership to their project team while ensuring team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience
- Following change control procedures gaining agreement for revisions to the project from project sponsors
- Participating in monthly project assurance reviews
- Reporting project status on a monthly basis using IT For Shell Dashboard etc.
- Managing global deployments

Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor?s Degree and have approximately 5 or more years relevant professional experience. Previous experience working in Downstream and PMI certified (PMP) preferred.

- SAP knowledge
- Knowledge/experience of Shell?s DS Distribution processes
- Ability to work in virtual teams, across time, geographical, and cultural boundaries
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels of the organization (sr. level, customers, colleagues as well as more junior staff on the team)
- Knowledge of Distribution?s Streamline project (Cost to Serve) is a plus
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally (international)
- Ability to take a structured and effective approach to own work
