ERP ADMINISTRATOR

Wolseley is engaging in a Business Change Program to develop the next generation business systems and operational processes for the Wolseley Group. This will allow us to leverage our investment in technology, share information and best practices, and, where possible, standardize processes.

This program is currently in the design and development phase. A team of people representing the Wolseley companies has been assembled and is based in Newport News, Virginia. This team works with other representatives from the Wolseley Operating Companies, systems integration consultants, and supporting software vendors.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The ERP Administrator will operate as technical administravtive support of the various global applications (PeopleSoft, HighJump, etc.) for both the Design and Development team as well as the Technology Centers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Maintain development, test, and training instances of global applications (PeopleSoft, HighJump, etc.) for the Design and Development team
Works with DBA s and ERP development team in coordinating system-wide updates and installing upgrades and patches for ERP systems
Support Technology Centers with their updates and patches to supported instances
Monitor the performance and reliability of the D&D environments
Work closely with D&D Systems Analysts to support ERP development
Manage Cases with ERP vendors
Develop and document both Wolseley standards as well as recommendations for application architectures
Support the Technology Centers application administrators (3rd level support)
Troubleshoot ERP application issues
Maintains ERP systems security through user profile management, creates and updates access permissions and maintains user accounts
Possess an understanding of WOS ERP configuration options and implications.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES


Provide recommendations for enhancements/changes that may involve custom design, optional and third party products to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of ERP Systems
Performs configuration, change management and testing activities as required
Consults users on technology changes that will impact work progress
Determine viable options for deployment of global applications
Develop minimum maintenance and monitoring standards for global applications
Work with Technology Centers to determine proper system sizing of global applications
Gather, develop, document, and communicate best ERP application administrative practices
Seek educational opportunities to become ?expert? in application administration
Other duties as assigned by company management

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS


Minimum of 3 years experience in PS, HJ or other global application administration
Sound working knowledge of the global  applications components
Good understanding of the global applications development environments
Should have prior PeopleSoft, HighJump, or other global application upgrade experience.
Ability to work in a fast-paced multitasking environment.
Excellent communication skills
Flexibility to work late at times (i.e.: overtime if involved in a critical issue, upgrade, etc.)
Ability to solve problems independently when handling urgent issues.
Unix experience required
Windows server experience required
Experience with Oracle preferred
Experience with Web Servers preferred
Experience with Quest Stat preferred
Experience with Foglight and Spotlight preferred
