Data Warehouse/Data Mart Position

State of Illinois Medicaid Data Warehouse



Bull Services has enjoyed a strong partnership with the State of Illinois since 1999 and we are looking to add to our Springfield-based staff in the continual implementation and maintenance of its Medicaid data warehouse.  Specifically, we are looking for local professionals with ETL and Reporting experience. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a great customer on a cutting edge technical business intelligence solution. The following are responsibilities of this position.

 

Assist with the development, design, and implementation of the State's Teradata Medicaid Data Warehouse

Work with functional users and customer IT personnel to identify additional data for the data warehouse and develop design specifications for its inclusion in the database

Participate in change control, problem management, and communication among associated team members

Work with functional users to specify reports for the data warehouse and develop design specifications

Develop, test and implement subject matter data marts

Develop, test and implement reports

Provide implementation recommendations, work plans, and estimated hours and time frame estimates

Develop, test and implement programs, scripts/JCL and processes to extract, transform, clean and load data from source systems onto the data warehouse

Participate in processes to ensure a consistent, well-managed, and integrated data warehouse infrastructure

Work in a team environment with other Bull Services team members and the customer user/IT personnel

Work comfortably both in technical and user business areas

Excellent communication skills

 

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

 

BS degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent experience is required

Minimum of 7-8 years of progressive work experience in information technology is required

Strong SQL skills are required

Experience with creating subject area data marts for ad-hoc analysis and standard reporting needs is highly desirable

Experience with Business Objects for report creation is highly desirable; or with another business intelligence tool such as Hyperion, Cognos, Microstrategy, Hummingbird, or Proclarity is desirable

Government (State, federal) experience is a plus

Healthcare experience is a plus

HEDIS or disease management reporting experience is a plus

Strong communication skills with the ability to provide focused leadership to users in design and acceptance testing is required

Experience with relational database technologies such as  Teradata is highly desirable; or with another relational database such as DB2, Oracle, Informix, Adabase, or Sybase is desirable

Experience in the use of COBOL and  IBM MVS JCL for data extraction and loading is highly desirable

Experience with Teradata utilities such as FastLoad, MultiLoad, BTEQ, OleLoad, and TPump is preferred

Experience with UNIX Script writing is highly desirable
