ETL Developer Needed

Job Description:

The ideal salary range upon hire is $70-75K. Will look at higher money if skill set is very strong.

There is an immediate need for an ETL Developer in the Data Warehouse Group. This is a mid-high level position that should be very familiar in a Data Warehouse environment.

Qualified candidates should have experience in:

Informatica 7.0 -- Preferred - or very strong in another tool

Oracle database knowledge a huge plus

Experience doing coding in PL/SQL

Under general supervision, work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Participates in the full systems life cycle and in solution design, including recommendation of code development or reuse and buy versus build solutions. Codes, tests, and implements applications software that is delivered on time and within budget. Responsible for application maintenance and production support of one or more applications.

Essential Functions:

Provides production support and performance monitoring of existing production systems.

Coordinates with other departments to resolve system production problems.

Participates in product evaluations and buy versus build recommendations.

Develops the design and code for new applications and/or enhancements to existing applications.

Generates application code that is traceable to technical specifications.

Makes recommendations toward the development of new code or reuse of existing code.

Writes unit test scripts and debugs code using reliable test data; obtains end user approval to promote to production.

Performs critical work of a complex technical and business context.

Provides accurate and timely communication of the status of assignment, job responsibilities, and the resolution of problems to the appropriate parties following established policies and procedures.

Creates estimates and determines resource requirements for assignments and tracks progress against major milestones following project management methodology and documentation standards.

Participates in user/customer meetings.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

Associate's degree and relevant work experience; bachelor's degree preferred.

Three years of experience in system analysis, design, coding, and testing.

Strong ETL tool knowledge and experience (preferably Informatica).

Knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts and practices

Basic understanding of database structures.

Ability to mentor staff in development best practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Solid knowledge of multiple structured coding languages and distributed systems development techniques.

Solid knowledge of system development life cycle concepts, practices, and procedures.

Solid knowledge of business and system workflow documentation methods.

Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, good negotiation skills.

Strong team player.

Detail oriented.

Exercises sound judgment.

Ability to maintain professional composure with customers.

Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to customer information and employee records.
