Chicago-based Sara Lee Corporation employs 137,000 people worldwide, operates in 58 countries and markets branded consumer products in nearly 200 nations.  A sampling of our world-famous brands include Sara Lee?, Hillshire Farm?, Chef Pierre?, Douwe Egberts?, and Superior Coffee?.  Sara Lee is proud to be the second-largest producer of fresh bread and baked goods, fourth-largest producer of frozen baked goods and No. 2 producer of frozen desserts in the United States.  Position SummaryUnder the general direction of the Senior Manager of Data Warehouse, this position is responsible for the Extraction/Transformation/Load (ETL) applications that support the development and maintenance of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and integration/data cleansing tools/processes between all systems.  This position is responsible to ensure that the data is accurate and provides consistent measurements.   The primary focus will be leading a team of ETL Developers to produce standard high quality programs for automating, monitoring, maintaining and updating ETL load processes.  This position will assist in the development of standards and governance and ensure that the ETL team adheres to those standards.   Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDefine and maintain an internal system development process that ensures that business applications are developed in both a quality and robust manner for ongoing system support. Responsible for the operational stability of the ETL processes insuring they are properly monitored and audited; thereby providing data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of delivery.Responsible to maintain internal system controls and processes that support Sarbanes Oxley.Maintain and develop extract programs on source systems, ETL applications, and data cleansing functions.Responsible for meeting service level agreements and performance of systems. Assists in projecting hardware and software requirements. Ensures that all business applications that are developed internally or through third party contractors have appropriate backup and recovery processes for critical data. Manages third party resources that are used to support system development and programming activities. Supports the development of critical competencies in the internal applications support staff that minimize internal resource needs while optimizing the use of external resources.Define improvement opportunities for key development processes.Provides Project Management on critical projects, as required. Manage patches and upgrades to ETL tools.Provides updates to Data Warehouse manager and assist in the development of resource planning and enhancement prioritizations.Mentoring and management of ETL developersParticipates and consults with personnel in other information systems sections to coordinate activities and projects of various size and complexity. Candidates must possess expertise in both Business and Technology and must be skilled at translating business requirements into IT solutions.  Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.Develops and maintains current personal knowledge and skills on industry and professional trends in Information Technology.



Expert level knowledge and experience in data movement and data cleansing using Ascential DataStage

Led a team of ETL experts on at least 2 Business Intelligence Projects (preferably one with SAP BW as a major component)

Excellent understanding of SAP data extraction mechanism and SAP ERP application

5+ years of BI/DW Experience with 2+ years of Business Intelligence experience in ETL lead roles

At least 2+ years of hands on ETL implementation with one project using Ascential DataStage

Good management skills

Understanding of other aspects of a Business Intelligence Solution (Front End, Data Modeling, User Requirements, etc...)

Excellent communication and teamwork skills
