Edgelab Project Manager

CITY: Stamford STATE: Connecticut COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
- Ensure timeline and deliverables are managed for all Edgelab projects.
- Facilitate activities in support of project team.
- Work with Ph.D. faculty to ensure that deliverables benefit the sponsoring businesses.
- Actively participate in interviewing, selecting and evaluating the performance of Edgelab candidates.
- Oversee weekly project status meetings and weekly internal team meetings.
- Expedite resolution of issues between project teams and businesses.
- Liaise between business, faculty, and students.
- Communicate status to internal mentoring team weekly (staff meeting).
- Ensure quality or academic methodology is followed.
- Organize needed resources from vendor partners associated with project.
- Identify project prerequisites.
- Assess risk of projects and drive project teams to mitigation.
- Manage the prospecting and preparation of project candidates; assist business sponsors with scoping of project charters for applicability to Edgelab.
- Identification and development of Intellectual Property application(s) with student cooperation.
- Formally present project updates to steering committee.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Project management experience.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality and self-confidence.
- Ability to compromise/negotiate with key customers (academics/business sponsors/vendors).
- Strong level of interest and willingness to embrace new technologies and concepts.
- Self-starter with superior organizational and follow through ability.
- Strong team player.
- Strong customer focus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.

Desired:
- Blackbelt certification.
- MBA degree.
- Academic Experience (teaching experience/involvement in graduate programs).
