The Messaging & Directory Services team supports approximately 40,000 users across all of Cardinal's business units. The team primarily handles Exchange server administration and functions, Outlook tier 2 troubleshooting, and DNS/WINS administration. The team focuses on daily operations related to the support and maintenance of the Exchange server environment, participates in projects alongside our build team, and handles DNS/WINS administration.

Essential Functions:
Primarily responsible for the on-going management of the global messaging architecture which includes but not limited to: Microsoft Exchange 2000 administration (enterprise), escalation resolution, exchange hardware support, enterprise system monitoring, Active Directory administration and support, and Microsoft Outlook administration and support.

Secondary responsibilities: wireless handheld support, identify and document support processes

Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:

Primary Activities:
Microsoft Exchange 2000 server administration in a global enterprise environment
Provide escalation resolution for electronic messaging issues
Participate in 24x7 on call rotation in support of global messaging environment
Upgrade and maintain electronic messaging hardware and software
Customer support for Microsoft Outlook troubleshooting at the Tier 2 level
Active Directory administration of user objects, distribution lists, and group mailboxes
Blackberry wireless messaging user administration

Secondary Activities
Implement and support policies, procedures, and standards
Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring for global tiered support personnel
Administer and manage infrastructure (Active Directory, DNS, WINS)

Education or Equivalent:
Four year degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems and/or 3 years equivalent experience

Specific skills required to successfully support a Global Windows Exchange 2000 Shared Services Organization:
4 years experience with Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise, Windows 2000 Enterprise, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows 2000 Active Directory.
2+ Years experience with Security software (Trend Micro, Symantec, NA), Veritas Net Backup, Microsoft SQL Server, Blackberry Enterprise Server, Captaris Rightfax (or similar application).
2+ Years experience with HP Proliant server platforms, remote insight and Server Insight Monitoring.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating platforms and Office applications (including Visio & Project).
Proficient with TCP/IP and IT related applications such as WINS, DNS and TELNET.
Preferred knowledge of monitoring and virtualization software as well as disaster recovery concepts.

Broad skills required to successfully support a Shared Services Organization:

Practical experience coding in Visual Basic and/or Visual Basic Scripting. Knowledge of Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI), ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), Collaboration Data Objects (CDO), CDO for Windows NT Server (CDONTS), Jscript, VBScript, Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).
Experience with other messaging systems such as: Lotus Notes, GroupWise, cc:Mail, Exchange 5.5 helpful.
Experience with various network topologies such as: Ethernet, Token Ring, Wireless.
Experience with various Firewall solutions such as: Checkpoint, PIX and Microsoft ISA.
Industry certifications such as MCSE, ASE, Server+, Network+, A+ are not required but highly preferred.

Must be able to work in a 24x7 environment; this includes nights and weekends. On-call & overtime required.
Must be able to work closely with resources required for a project, ensuring adequate resources are available to meet customer's expectations.
