Emerging Technology Strategist

TD Ameritrade is looking for an Emerging Technology Strategist to work at our Headquarters location in Omaha, NE, or our Baltimore, MD or Jersey City, NJ location.

OBJECTIVE: 

Leads the research and development of emerging technologies.  Incumbent seeks out pivotal technology opportunities that support the goals of client Growth, Retention and Yield and determines execution viability.  Responsible for crafting proposals, obtaining buy-in and championing approved initiatives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Research and explore technology opportunities and industry trends in order to advise internal clients on the applicability and utilization of technology.

2. Lead cross-functional virtual teams comprised of ThinkTech senior level associates in application development, engineering and architecture for the purposes of emerging technology research and development.

3. Support business development activities to include; product research and validation, technology evaluation, integration of technologies and related.

4. Identify strategic opportunities for emerging technologies and work with ThinkTech management team to integrate emerging technologies into their plans to ensure efficient and cost-effective use of technology.

5. Champion approved initiatives through the entire development lifecycle providing technical consultation.

6. As requested, analyze proposed systems and make recommendations to ensure solutions meet current needs and provide flexibility for future business and client needs.  Significant emphasis on alignment with general IT industry direction in relationship to targeted emerging technologies.

7. Maintain cognizance of competitive and industry trends associated with technological advances to evaluate opportunities for achieving maximum effective usage of the Company?s investment in information technology.

8. Incorporate internal client?s business objectives and priorities into the ThinkTech planning process to ensure Client requirements are efficiently and accurately met.

9. Identify re-engineering opportunities through research and analysis of business and system process inefficiencies to ensure the company maintains a competitive advantage with information technology.

10. Analyze technology related business development opportunities of products or services that provide competitive advantage to the Company.

11. Provide cross-functional strategic and tactical initiative support as directed.

12. Contribute to thought leadership within the Office of the CTO and ThinkTech.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

? 10+ years professional IT experience.

? BA/BS in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering which may be substituted by professional experience.

? Proven and diverse experience with various information technologies.  Candidate to possess background with tools, operating systems, computing hardware and communications with the ability to determine value for the Company.

? Leadership qualities to build strong coalitions with technology and business representatives.

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Proven ability to build and present technical and non-technical presentations for executive management with an ability to influence others using objective and subjective information.

? Out-of-the-box thinker driven to lower costs using conventional/non-conventional solutions.
