Description:
The purpose of the Engineering Information Systems department (EIS) is to provide technical hardware and software support for full-scale military simulation development, for one of the leading simulation and training companies in the world. The scope of this job is to provide operational support from the development lifecycle to delivery of various United States and foreign military simulators. Successful candidates will be self-starters capable of working independent of constant supervision.

Duties:

An EIS engineer's daily activities include, but are not limited to:
Provide administration over all project development assets.
Install/document/maintain/administer configuration of capitol and customer owned computer and networking hardware.
Load operating systems, application software, then customize and document for repeatability.
Manage/maintain existing equipment as required.
Administer project tape backup systems.
Write/test/troubleshoot Perl and shell scripts.
Provide user support for tools and operating systems.
Assist in providing and maintaining Information System Security.
Provide administration and ensure the integrity of the company's standard configuration management toolset (ClearCase).
Perform software builds, and provide system administration of the software build environment.
Electronically generate/label media for software builds and releases.
Update software build progress via Web-based workflow utility.

EIS engineers may also be called upon to assist with the following activities:
Contract proposal estimates
Remote support for military bases
Conducting acceptance tests with customers
Provide internal training on software tools/processes.
Train customers in the use of delivered equipment
Hardware selection and infrastructure improvements
Process improvement activities

Requirements:
B.S. in Computer Science, MIS or related technical field or 5+ years of equivalent experience
Ability and willingness to work off-hours and weekends as needed in order to meet key deadlines and program performance dates
Hands-on experience assembling and configuring computer hardware and software
Experience with shell and Perl scripts
Experience in administering Linux and Windows workstations/servers
Experience administering Configuration management tools such as ClearCase is considered a plus
Existing secret / top secret clearance preferred, but not required
