Summary:

 

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of developers (local and offshore) and play a critical role in the technical design, development and testing of our product. A successful candidate has a strong technical background, excellent communication skills and will be extremely motivated.

 

Responsibilities:

 You will be the primary designer, planner and project manager for adding features to Instantis EnterpriseTrack(TM) product. Work closely with the Product Management to define features and create requirement documents.Provide high level design of the new features to off shore project leads.Create and/or review design documentation and ensure that the design adheres to the design goals and overall architecture of the product.Perform code reviews and provide feedback to off shore project leads. Ensure that the code adheres to the coding standards.Work on a day to day basis with project leads in providing them technical guidance and mentorship.Take end-to-end ownership to ensure that the feature functionality is complete as per the requirements from Product Management. Take end-to-end ownership for the quality of the features delivered.Expected to jump in and do coding and bug fixing as needed.Assist the Support and Sales teams with the investigation and resolution of customer issues.Perform code reviews of changes done by the professional services engineering team.

 

Qualifications:

 Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science. Master's preferred. Must have 2+ years managing software development efforts with demonstrated track record of successfully delivering releases of enterprise software product.7+ years software development experience in Enterprise Software or Internet Applications. Should have experience managing off shore software development team.Skills: Java/C++, JDBC, Servlets, HTML, Javascript, XML, SQL, OracleShould be a quick learner. Be able to quickly acquire deep architectural and technical understanding of the product. Excellent project management skills, time management skills, effective planning, management and control of projects. Strong experience with software development lifecycle.Willingness to take a hands-on approach to work when necessary.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience with RDBMS schema design. Experience in web application performance tuning is a plus.Experience with source code management system.Ability to multi-task.
