Engineering Operations Manager

Position Summary

PostX, an email security software company, seeks an experienced computer operations manager to oversee the evolution of its IT infrastructure. This infrastructure includes a data center, a hosted service, PxMail.com, an extensive development lab, a variety of mission-critical applications and the corporate communications infrastructure. You will make on-the-spot decisions that directly affect revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction as well as the productivity of your colleagues. As a key member of Engineering management, you will have input on product and business issues in addition to your immediate responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

The Engineering Operations Manager is responsible for the deployment, maintenance and upgrade of the PostX technical infrastructure. On the systems side, this includes servers in our data center and in our Cupertino offices as well as the supporting networking infrastructure (bandwidth, routers, firewalls, gateways, high availability and the like.) The Operations Manager is also responsible for mission critical applications for engineering, support, finance and sales.

The Engineering Operations Manager reports to the Vice President, Engineering. The position is full time, permanent and includes competitive compensation and full benefits.

Required Skills / Attributes

The candidate is expected to have experience (5+ years) with most of the following:
* Successful IT Project Management
* Reference-able technical team leadership
* Familiarity with routers, firewalls, VPN and other network management technology
* Familiarity with software infrastructure ? Windows, Linux, databases, application servers, browsers, web servers
* Familiarity with enterprise-scale computing ? network security, high availability computing, virtualization, directory management, data center management, database management
* Familiiarity with typical medium-sized company computing requirements ? applications for source code management, support case tracking, sales operations and such.
* Ambitious and self-directed
* BS or equivalent degree
