Enterprise IT Manager

Manages day to day operations of diverse technical team responsible for tier 2 and tier 3 problem resolution of Unix, Windows, and Networking issues in a Managed Enterprise Hosting environment. Regularly directs the work of exempt or non-exempt employees. Manages the tactical activities of specific shift teams. Builds and maintains a high performing operations team. Sets clear direction and prioritizes work effort to meet business needs, Operations goals, and organizational requirements. Communicate directly with internal and external customers. Provides advanced technical recommendations. Acts as a management escalation point for customer issues. Recommends policy changes that improve service delivery or ensure departmental objectives are met. Manages employee performance to include regular performance evaluations and coaching and mentoring to improve job performance. Collaborate with various Verizon Business internal groups and vendors to design innovative or complex solutions.

 

Job Qualifications/Required Skills:

 

Strong leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and lead talented technical professionals. 7 plus years Unix or Windows systems admin experience, preferably in a large enterprise-class production environment. Strong understanding or experience with the following: Networking concepts and technologies, RAID techniques, O/S internals, backup/restore operations, and internet applications. Self motivated with strong project management skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to think and execute clearly under pressure.
