Enterprise Release Manager

The Enterprise Release Manager at Kaiser Permanente will ensure that enhancements and fixes to the KPHC (Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect) applications are planned and deployed in a controlled manner, which will be achieved through cross-regional coordination of release contents, deployment schedules and implementation plans.

As an Enterprise Release Manager you will provide ongoing planning and support for the existing cross-regional, multi-vendor Release Management and Change Control teams; and participate in cross-training with the Change Control team for resource management. You will also integrate the KPHC release process to enable timely, cross-platform change notifications, impact assessments, approvals and controls, as well as establish and manage the standard release and exception processes to facilitate appropriate controls and responsiveness with the vendor, Change Management team, Change Control team and regional constituents. Additionally you will serve as a KPHC liaison with the Enterprise Release Management team and coordinate KPHC release schedules (including those for interfacing systems).

Basic/Minimum Requirements for this position include a Bachelor?s degree; 5 years of experience working in the Information Technology field with 2 years of experience as a Project Manager with a focus on Change/Release Management and Change Control.

Preferred qualifications include project management experience with the proven ability to identify, define, refine, document and follow software package implementation; PMP certification; expert-level knowledge of MS Project, Visio and MS Office Suite; and change management skills with a thorough understanding of change control, configuration management and release management processes as they apply to software/application implementations. Also preferred is past experience with Cache, Citrix, AIX, Wintel, HL7 Messaging. Experience with KP-IT (BAP/ASM) Enterprise Release Management processes is highly valued. You also need project leadership skills (planning, tracking, resource management, risk identification, impact analysis and customer communication); coordination skills; professionalism; team leadership abilities; and good problem solving, facilitation, influencing and vendor relations skills.


Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect? is an integrated clinical and administrative information management system that integrates the patients electronic medical record with their appointments, registration and billing information. The system will link KP departments and facilities nationwide, providing KP physicians and care teams access to current and comprehensive patient information and providing KP members 24/7 online access to key portions of their medical record.
