Enterprise Report & Analyst-Unit Manager

Description:
This unit management position works with our internal business partners in a leadership role, to understand the business direction and needs, and apply this knowledge to determine design strategies, make recommendations for implementation of new systems and technologies, and design and/or facilitate the implementation of enterprise financial reporting applications. The manager will work with leaders in our functional areas to plan and prioritize work and ensure delivery of financial reporting support, consulting, and implementation. This position will participate in long term systems planning and may manage multiple projects or large projects of 5 to 20 team members.

Responsibilities:
Business Planning & Operations Management
The manager has overall accountability for the delivery of benefits services to the client.
Supports the cluster managers in developing the overall business plan
Leads development of fiscal year delivery business plan
Establishes measurable goals/targets for the development team
Leads definition and execution of an action plan for achieving business plan/operational results
Drives focus on meeting and exceeding system performance standards and service level agreements
Reports business plan progress to internal stakeholders
Makes adjustments to business plan (and communicates changes) throughout year to account for changing priorities
Drives integration and alignment across the development teams and business partners
Drives accountability for adopting best practices and standard practices and improving operations through process improvements

Financial Management
Responsibility for the financial management of unit budgets and forecasts
Drives compliance with legal and internal processes
Drives effective cost management practices and approaches across team; drives operational improvements to reduce costs
Accountable for portfolio of work, resource balancing, and capacity planning.

People Management
Accountable for creating an effective application development working environment focused on associate development, satisfying work experiences, and accountability for results
Aligns associates within the internal business partners', the IT practice, and the Firm's goals

Report/Application Development
Prepares specifications and makes recommendations for new business applications, application architectures, and enhancements/upgrades to existing applications per business requirements for complex enterprise-wide solutions.
Facilitate the development and documentation of functional requirements
Ensures ongoing support for applications in or more business areas
Ensure all aspects of software testing including unit testing, system testing, and integration testing and overall quality of applications
Facilitate communication across the functional areas and development teams to ensure delivery and alignment
Responsible for project planning, resources allocation, project budget, monitoring and status reporting for multiple projects and/or large project teams.
Support business strategies through effective management of others. Responsibilities include staffing and resource planning, performance management, associate development, and compensation management. These are accomplished through six people manager expectations; developing others, demonstrating interpersonal awareness, linking team to organization, encouraging excellence, leveraging and valuing diversity, and fostering collaboration.
Perform other duties, project work, etc. as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, or equivalent
5 or more years of leadership experience in application development (e.g. project management, recognized technological expertise, people management
8 or more years experience working with a variety of technology disciplines (e.g. programming languages, database management systems, data warehousing.
Recognized expertise in one or more business areas and/or technology disciplines
Demonstrated ability to translate/communicate complex concepts to peers and business partners.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment with short deadlines, interruptions, and multiple tasks/projects occurring at once.
Demonstrated ability to leverage and motivate others through coaching, mentoring, and/or people management.
