Enterprise Tech Initiatives-New Media Tech Project Manager

CITY: Shelton STATE: Connecticut COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
- Manage projects relating to the implementation of New Media Technologies, including highly visible initiatives, i.e., Blogging, RSS, Podcasts, Flash and Video streaming, etc..
- Lead strategic technology initiatives, supporting GE's Marketing Communications and Corporate Initiatives Groups.
- Develop and manage an enterprise-wide mobility content solution for delivering real-time data feeds to mobile devices.
- Responsible for leading and implementing Enterprise Search for GE's External and Internal Web properties, including GE.COM, InsideGE and business sites.
- Responsible for the design and implementation of GE.COM and InsideGE Business Search Taxonomy, leveraging vendor technologies by Google and FAST.
- Work closely with Enterprise Technology Application and Project Managers to assess requirements, develop and implement key initiatives, including the Enterprise Media Portal, InsideGE Redesign, Enterprise Calendar and Event Management platforms.
- Perform all other duties as specified by CIS leadership.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience delivering large-scale, enterprise-wide, web applications -- specifically in managing multi-generational application development projects.
- BS in Computer Science, other IT related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Working, hands-on knowledge of J2EE, JavaScript, AJAX, PHP and other web development technologies.
- Understanding of database concepts- Understanding of XML, XSLT, DHTML, DOM, XHTML.
- Understanding of Wireless Technology/Data Management, Streaming and Blogging.
- Proven ability to execute high-profile projects and to provide thought leadership to the organization.
- Demonstrated excellence in communications (verbal and written), presentation, financial management, analytical and customer focus skills.
- Strong advocate of teaming concepts and processes; a team player.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute projects. Experience in managing, external contractors both on and/or off-shore.
- Proven track record with both working with technical and functional teams.

Desired:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Information/Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Green Belt certification.
- IMLP graduate.
- Strong understanding of emerging Web technologies.
