Entry Level (1+ Year) Java Developer

Robert Half Technology, the world s leader in specialized staffing is currently seeking an Entry Level Java/J2EE Developer who is looking for a company where they may grow and develop their career.  In this exciting contract to hire role the candidate will work within the Research & Development team assisting in the development of new Java modules.

 

Day to Day Expectations:
Assist in development of the application interface and tool set using Java tools and technologies
Become knowledgeable in the Software/Hardware architecture of products, including system configuration, database schema, functions, indexes, and views.
Program efficiently within the application Java Server Pages and the database.
Work within project teams, and customer service teams as a technical resource and contribute to successful implementations and customer satisfaction.
Program and modify stored procedures and functions, create alternate views, database administration, in providing customer specific functionality.
Work in a team environment to maximize customer satisfaction to develop strong customer references.
Develop detailed knowledge of all products, product architecture, development tools and common customer operating environments.
Provide assistance with testing and problem resolution as may be required.

 

Required Skills:
University degree in Computer Science or related field
A minimum of 1 years experience working with Java based technologies in a real world situation ? NO ACADEMIC PROJECTS!
Prior work with Java Application Server
Prior work with EJB and/or JSP

 

 

Preferred Experience
SUN Certified or must earn certification within 3 months
Current Java (J2EE), Back-end development, EJB experience.
Current experience in all of the following areas: Servlets, MVC, Tags, and XML.
Be familiar with a Model 2 MVC approach to JSP/Servlet development.
