Equity Operations - Listed Derivatives Team Leader

A major financial institution located in New York City, seeks an Equity Ops - Listed Derivatives Team Leader/Lead Business Analyst. Core Trades is a collection of applications providing key TAPS functionality. Our main applications include Trade Entry/Capture, Bookkeeping, Confirms and Statements. We interface with many teams, and applications, both up and down stream. Our applications are global, but primarily supported from NY and Chennai. Our team is made up of both firm employees and consultants. We work with all ISG business units, IED, FID, PB, & PWM. We handle a wide range of products, both FID and Equity. We have many in-flight initiatives. Some key strategic ones are: Legacy Trades Decommissioning over time as Trade Completion matures, Monthly Firm Statements Renovation, and Daily Firm Confirmations Renovation. This is in addition to maintaining our legacy applications to meet on-going business and regulatory needs. Our focus is shifting, over time, from an M/F legacy area, to a distributed/cross platform area as we concentrate on renovation gaps in our functionality that Trades Completion will not address, and breaking the widespread dependence on our legacy data and processing. The team is looking for an experienced cross platform, semi-hands on Officer, to work on both our legacy and renovated focuses. We need some amount of oversight, guidance, and quality control around our legacy development. This role will include day-to-day co-management of Core Trades people and projects. We need someone who can help lead and drive our renovation efforts from both a business and technical perspective. This will included interfacing with clients to drive business requirements, involvement in technical architecture and design of the applications, project planning, project management, status reporting and at times, help with development or technical issue resolution, to some extent.

A proven history of delivery in dynamic environments is required, as is cross platform experience in distributed and mainframe technologies. Excellent people skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience in developing and delivering presentations, and project and people management & leadership experience are all needed. We are seeking a self starter, someone highly motivated and independent with multi-tasking abilities, highly organized and effective at time management. 6+ years of BA and/or technical experience is required, as is experience with negotiating and influencing clients and others in IT. Experience with trading and/or trading related applications, with FID and/or equity cash products or derivatives is necessary. Strong experience with MS Office is required. Desired attributes include: experience in offshore project and people management; knowledge of one or more business analysis and design methodologies; experience on a medium to large scale renovation effort; experience in managing priorities from multiple business units; and TAPS experience.
