Expert Windows XP Desktop Support Specialist

In need of a solid Windows XP Desktop consultant for a long term contract opportunity in Downer's Grove, IL.? The ideal candidate will have worked in very large environments and on numerous workstations.

Assignment Description / Responsibilities:

This consultant?will be responsible for monitoring desktop management consoles, identifying issues,

resolving problems, and proactivitely advising courses of action that need to be taken to address

growing issues.

This ideal person will poses:

* In depth technical expertise on Windows/XP

* Deep knowledge of Windows Registry

* 5+ years supporting Windows/XP clients

* Experience managing hundreds to thousands of Windows Workstations

* Experience using and setting up Windows Policies

* Experience with Windows WUS/SUS

* Experience operating in a Novell environment

* Experience managing an anti-virus console

Business Justification:

Multiple workstations management tools have been implemented to control virus outbreaks, spyware, and security patching, however there are no resources available to monitor the currency and accuracy of these desktop management tools. An additional resource is needed to perform this monitoring and troubleshooting functions.

Major Accountabilities:
Responsible for monitoring anti-virus console, insuring that all workstations are current, and addressing any problems.
Responsible for monitoring anti-spyware console, insuring that all workstations are current, and addressing any problems.
Responsible for monitoring WUS workstation patching, insuring that all workstations are current, and addressing any problems.
