Field Services Engineer

VC3, an IT services solution provider headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina is seeking to fill Field Services Engineer positions the Columbia office. The Field Services Engineer for VC3 will serve as technical lead on projects involving servers, clients, LAN/WAN connectivity, peripheral devices, and will provide first and possibly second level support for clients on all technical inquiries. The Field Services Engineer will respond to and investigate end user inquiries, concerns, and issues via phone, fax, e-mail, and in person in a timely and courteous manner, and will recommend or perform actions to correct problems based on knowledge of systems. These positions will primarily focus on support and implementation of Microsoft and Cisco products.

The following skills/attributes are required:

??????? High School diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred; and 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.?

??????? 3-5 years experience in information system design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance and documentation; office automation / productivity applications specification, installation, operation, and maintenance.

??????? Strong knowledge of current IT concepts, issues, practices, methodologies, and trends.

??????? Good problem solving and decision making skills. Ability to understand and analyze complex issues.

??????? Must be motivated, detail orientated, highly organized and able to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in an efficient manner with a high level of quality.?

??????? Excellent project and account management skills required.

??????? Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written form.

??????? Ability to deal effectively with clients, vendors, and peers. Desire to provide the highest levels of service to clients.

Required technical skills include:

??????? MCP Certification or equivalent experience

??????? Strong knowledge of Microsoft server and client operating systems. (Server OS: Windows 2000 and 2003, Client OS: Windows 98, 2000 and XP Professional).

??????? Domain Migration and upgrade (WinNT to AD)

??????? Installation, upgrade, and maintenance of Microsoft Exchange 5.5 / 2000 / 2003

??????? Microsoft Active Directory design and implementation.

??????? General understanding of internet protocols including DNS, SMTP, POP3, IMAP

??????? Basic TCP/IP Troubleshooting Knowledge.

??????? Installation and troubleshooting of desktop client applications including Microsoft Office Suite and various antivirus clients.

??????? Ability to use appropriate tools to identify and remove spy-ware, ad-ware, and viruses.

??????? Remote troubleshooting using, Remote Desktop, VNC, PC Anywhere.

??????? Installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise backup solutions.

Not required, but highly desirable:

????????? MCSA

????????? CCNA

????????? Knowledge of Cisco IP Telephony

????????? Knowledge of wireless networking

????????? Knowledge of Cisco security concepts

????????? Unix and Linux experience

???????? Travel Requirements: Ability to travel when necessary must have reliable transportation.
